As the mercury drops and the days become shorter, we all know that soon the holidays will be here. Why not brighten your surroundings and the lives of those around you with this issue’s spectacular selection of holiday- and winter-themed projects. This issue features designs that can be adapted to a wide variety of surfaces to spruce up your home—from wall art to whimsical seating, the choices are as diverse as ever.

‘Tis the season for giving and sharing, so consider reaching out to others who are less fortunate. As a painter or member of a painting group, you can make a difference. Get together with fellow painters and hold a sale of hand-painted items, the proceeds of which can be donated to a charitable organization. Make this the year to truly “paint from the heart” and make someone else’s life just a little bit brighter.
